The ghosts of the past return: the iPhone 7 matte black paint, in question

If we look back a few years, specifically until 2012, many will surely remember what happened after the launch of the black iPhone 5: the paint that covered the aluminum showed damage in the slightest eventuality, revealing the metallic color of the aluminum. Apple's solution? Eliminate this color in subsequent models, replacing it with a "space gray" of a slightly darker tone than the white and silver model.

With the matte black iPhone 7 we have seen again a terminal whose finish is similar to that of that iPhone 5. The doubts, obviously, were served: would he have the same problem with the paint? The logic invited to suppose that no, that if Apple marketed a model of these characteristics again it was because it had learned from the mistakes of the past. However, this may now be called into question.

Several users are reporting in the Apple support forums that the same problem, or one very similar, is repeated four years later. On this occasion, curiously, it seems to be more localized, finding the main flaws on the bottom frame of the device, next to the speaker area. Most of them agree that these defects begin to appear after the first days of use. If I had to comment, I would say that it is natural that, when millions of devices are distributed worldwide, some of them present some kind of peculiarity. However, while buyers of a black iPhone know that their device is more prone to damage when dropped or scratched, should be supported by Apple if the paint problem occurs spontaneously. Still, it is difficult to confirm that this is a large-scale problem like the one we saw with the iPhone 5, since only a small number of units seem to be affected.
