Back in 2015, the then VSCO Cam (now just VSCO) launched an app to join the GIF fever. Under the name of DSCO, this app allowed us -and allows- create our own GIFs Through an action very similar to the one found in Boomerang on Instagram. However, although fun, there were not many reasons that justified having an application of this style on our iPhone.
Almost two years after they have passed without pain or glory for DSCO, it's time for this function to make the leap to VSCO, an application with a large user base who may find it useful to create their own GIFs at specific times. To create them we only have to go to the camera section, slide to the DSCO option, shoot and share the result.
This new feature will only arrive on iOS devices and will be available in a couple of weeks. However, it seems unlikely that the impact it will have will be noticeable in any respect. Today, the use that many people make of VSCO is merely that of app-transition between the original photograph shot through the native iPhone app and its subsequent upload to Instagram, without using the social functions of this and not its integrated camera, which means that many users will not even realize that DSCO is there.
VSCO is one of the preferred applications when it comes to editing photos due to its popular filters and the great results obtained from its use, but as a social network it has never finished taking off (And probably never will) Why? Well, because if there is something that we do not lack at this moment, that is social networks and, when choosing which one to upload our content to, we will always choose the one that offers us the most interaction.
