Google has updated its "Wallet" application for iOS devices with tweaks to the design and the introduction of the new company logo. Google Wallet is the direct alternative to Apple's Passbook, also renamed "Wallet" as of iOS 9. Both applications allow us to make payments, however, Google has limited options on the competing platform.
From Android devices we can use Wallet as a digital credit card, but in iOS the application can only be used to send and receive money between friends and relatives. In this sense, the tool looks a lot like one of the most widespread options right now: Venmo. Google Wallet or Venmo are ideal applications when dividing a restaurant bill among several friends or to pay for shared expenses during a trip.
In the case of Google Wallet we can withdraw the money that we have accumulated to our debit card, without having to pay any commission. In this update, the application has been developed from scratch, to make its use easier and the faster transactions between contacts. Another important point that we can read in the App Store is that Google has eliminated support for loyalty programs, although users will be able to export the cards associated with their accounts.
