Precisely in my previous article I made reference to the latest update that Apple Maps have received adding information about public transportation in San Diego and British Columbia, confirming that the Cupertino-based company has not forgotten its users and that although it may not seem like it, it continues to add new functions available only to a small group of users, such as public transport information.
In an attempt to keep iOS users using Apple Maps, the Mountain View-based company just released a new update to its iOS app. showing a new user interface in which the elements are shown in a more translucent way, especially when we draw a route to reach our destination. In addition, the company has also added information about the different areas of interest that we can find on the way to our destination, so that the journey becomes much more pleasant knowing that we can visit while we make the route.
Although the beginnings of Apple Maps on iOS were quite difficult, little by little it has been gaining ground to Google Maps and currently has managed to gain the trust of users by tripling the number of Google Maps users on iOS. However, Google does not throw in the towel and continues to work hard to recover part of the quota it had in the past and for this it has renewed the user interface and shows us the most relevant points of interest in the city where we are, something Much appreciated if we mainly use Google Maps to travel abroad, especially since we can download Google Maps on our device and be able to make use of them without a data fee.
