Every time a new tool is released to do the jailbreak problems appear to our iOS devices. These problems are solved with updates to the tool in question, but they can be very annoying. One of the problems that some users are experiencing after using the latest 25pp + Pangu tool is GPS related and location services, getting disconnected sporadically or not working at all. Without location services, the iOS device cannot communicate with some applications.
If you are one of the users who is affected by this problem, the first thing you can try is reset network settings from Settings / General / Reset / Reset network settings. If you have already tried it and your GPS still does not work as it should, you can also try another solution, this in the form of a Cydia tweak.
libLocation could fix GPS issues after last jailbreak
The tweak is called libLocation and installs like any other Cydia tweak:
- We open Cydia (DOH!).
- We do a search with the word libLocation.
- We access the package and touch Install, which will be in the upper right.
- We wait for the package to install and the problem might go away.
Most likely, Pangu release an update to your jailbreak tool to iOS 9.2-9.3.3 soon and this new version could fix this and other issues. If you have installed libLocation and a patch appears in the list of changes to correct the GPS failure, it is best to uninstall the tweak again; the less we install, the better our iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad will work.
When the new version is released too will include a new package in Cydia, so users who have already jailbroken your device will not have to do it again. What is happening is relatively normal in the first version of a jailbreak tool. You have to be patient so that everything works fine.
