Despite having the navigator that incorporates iOS Maps or Google Maps, TomTom is still my application for any trip by car, and one of the reasons is the possibility of activating the speed camera warnings. The TomTom database includes most of the fixed speed cameras, but we do not know how often they update the data, and it also lacks mobile speed cameras. After a while away, the GPSiPhoneTeam is back to fix this, and offers us the most up-to-date radar database with fixed and mobile radars, ready to install in a couple of steps on any jailbroken iOS device.
To install the radars of the GPSiPhoneTeam you just have to add its repository to Cydia: http://repo.gpsiphoneteam.com. Once the packages are updated, we enter its repository and select the package with the warnings that we want to activate:
- TT Act. Fixed and Mobile: all fixed and mobile radars en route
- TT Act. Fixed Radars: only fixed radars en route
- TT Act. All Notices: notices of fixed and mobile radars, breathalyzer controls, black spots ...
Once the notice we want is marked the rest of the necessary packages will be installed automatically: the European speed camera database, warning voices in Spanish and icons (Pack 1). We must continue with the installation, and once it is completed is when we can make any changes. If we want to change the language, we must enter its repo again and select the desired language, the Spanish that was installed by default will automatically be uninstalled. The same goes for speed camera icons. If you use iOS 7, the GPSiPhoneTeam team has just created icons adapted to iOS 7 that look great on the device. Select the package, and it will install, uninstalling package 1 that was installed by default.
In a few steps our browser with the best radar database. To update it you just have to enter Cydia and we will skip the update, like any other application that we have installed.
