For a few days it has been known that the iOS version of Grand Theft Auto III accepts modifications, however, we have not published it before because the subject was still in the discovery phase by users.
After a few days we can announce that GTA III accepts mods, allows to insert custom vehicles (or those of the XBOX version) and what is even better, users of an A4 device will be able to improve the graphic quality of the game substantially as you can see in the picture.
The graphic improvement involves activating the lights of the vehicles and the environment, higher resolution textures, shadows, blood effects ... all without sacrificing the performance of the game.
To make these modifications it is not necessary to have Jailbreak, just follow the steps in this TouchArcade thread or directly download the files that some users have created so that you simply have to rewrite the original for the modified one.
If GTA III was indispensable on any iOS device, now with much more reason.

Guys, for some reason it doesn't work for me, I replaced the 'gta3.set' file on my iphone with the 'gta3.set' left by the toucharcade (First preset file with enabled traffic lights and better blood (best preset so far / no FPS lost): gta3.set BEST). but I don't notice a change.

I did it as I put it above, with iExplorer enter the game path, replace the file, open the game, go to options, controls, restore defaults and it worked, it's worth it, much better

What they have to do is:
1.- Download and install iExplorer http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/ One of the requirements to run it is to have iTunes and QuickTime, so if you don't have either of them, you will have to install them.
2.- Download the file http://uploaded.to/file/inx5gc3u
3.- Open iExplorer.
4.- Connect the iPhone like this, without turning off or anything.
5.- The program will detect it and will put the system folders and applications on the left side, look for a folder called »com.rockstargames.gta3ios» click on it.
5.- Inside it there are more folders on the right, double click on the one that says »Documents» and you will find a file called »gta3.set», all you have to do is drag the file that you downloaded previously (step 2 ) with the same name to the iExplorer, it will ask them if they want to replace the one that was before, they give it to accept.
6.- Disconnect the iPhone.
7.- Open the game and go to Options> Controls> Restore defaults.
