The arrival of Apple Music has been an earthquake in everything related to streaming music. Rivals like Spotify are slightly concerned with the arrival of the Cupertino service to the business and one example of this is that they have decided to improve their recommendation system to deal with “For you” on Apple Music. The last company to make a change is Microsoft, who has changed the name of Xbox Music to Groove Music.
But the news is not just a new name. The service application with the largest number of songs available will also add new features to keep up with other aspects as well, such as the overall design.
What's new in version 3.3
- You no longer need a Groove Music Pass to use the app (although for some features you do).
- Name and design of the new application.
- (Beta) Now the music in your OneDrive Music folder appears as part of your collection.
- In addition to playlists, you can now download specific songs and albums for offline use.
- Filter all your music to see only what is available offline
- Various bug fixes.
The new name, also available now on Windows 10, Android, Xbox One and on their website officer, comes because Microsoft wants the Xbox brand to focus on the video game section, so he had to change the name of his streaming music service that used the same brand.
Although the design has been renewed, the functions and navigation through the application will be very similar to those of the previous version, so if you are already using the application, you do not have to worry in that regard.
Groove is a free app that requires iOS 7.0 or later, compatible with iPhone, iPad (extended iPhone version x2), and iPod touch, and is optimized for iPhone 5.
