Horizon, a new app that lets you forget about photos and videos vertically

Horizon

I remember when I got my first iOS device, it was an iPod Touch. Shortly after buying it, I released the video function filming in portrait mode and discovered that when viewing the video it was seen vertically and with uncomfortable black bars on the sides. I am still surprised that years later Apple still does not "correct" this fact and forces us to record in landscape mode if we want to have a video with a 16: 9 ratio. Now an app has come out that does just this and corrects this great flaw that the native iOS camera has.

The application in question bears the name of Horizon and not only records your videos in horizontal format but is also capable of maintaining the same aspect ratio even if during recording we go from recording in portrait mode to landscape mode. Obviously, to achieve this, what the app does is cut a section of your video vertically, thereby losing "information" on your shot, but for many this loss is more than compensated.

The app is available in the app store for 0.89 euro cents and allows us to select the ratio we want (1:1, 16:9 and 4:3) as well as the image quality (VGA, HD and Full HD). In any case, it is important to highlight that to achieve its goal, what the app does when cropping the plane is subsequently expand the pixels of said plane. In other words, the image quality is the same as if when viewing your video in vertical format you zoomed in on a specific part.

By this what I mean is that you would no longer be recording video in Full HD as such since by selecting a portion of the image and later expanding it, you would also be cropping the resolution of the captured image or video. However, it does not stop being an interesting app that will surely capture the interest of more than one. Then I leave you with a video of the app in operation.

Very good, an app to solve people's audiovisual lack of culture. Is it so difficult to turn the mobile to correctly record a video in the correct horizontal format? And I say correct format as long as you later want to be able to see it correctly on your computer, TV or YouTube, for example. And you also comment that it cuts and therefore quality is lost. It is the last straw. You spend the money on a mobile that records Full HD and then you spend money on an app with which you can throw that quality away. I think it costs a lot less to do a little wrist twist. And if the image doesn't fit completely on the screen, you just have to go back a little.
    Greetings.

Total stupidity! If I put the phone vertically it is precisely because I want to capture more image vertically. What am I going to cut it for !! ???
If I want more image in a horizontal sense, this is how I place the phone.
I do not understand these apps, and unless someone values them!
