How to access strict control of the built-in USB in iOS 12

iOS 12 continues to improve in terms of security, Apple is betting heavily on this type of mechanism that prevents access to the data on our phone without our consent, even when we are no longer here to tell about it. Recently there was talk of a "gray box" that the services and security forces of the United States of America were using to unlock these terminals, because now the time has come to disable them. This new iOS configuration restricts access to the Lightning port through a USB cable, this is how we can access its configuration menu through the iOS 12 settings.

To begin with, we will have to use Face ID, Touch ID or code to access this menu, the typical thing when we want to make alterations in the security settings, nothing that we did not expect from before. By activating this functionality we will quickly block any access to applications and accessories through the Lightning port in certain situations, even iTunes will lose total access. On the other hand, we must also know that we will need to grant permits for charging accessories with iAP certification, such as the CarPlay of vehicles, that is, we must unlock the terminal and proceed to plug it in through the cable, however it will not affect the normal charging accessories.

To activate it we must follow the following steps (remember that it is only present in iOS 12):

  1. Go to the native iOS Settings application
  2. Click on the security section where we configure the password, Touch ID or Face ID depending on our terminal
  3. We access by identifying ourselves with our system
  4. We go down to one of the last switches called USB accessory
  5. If we activate the functionality, we will make the restriction completely disabled through Lightning.

That's it, it's that easy to access the new security access.

Hello, it seems to me that it is just the opposite of what you say. if it is disabled, it is when the lightning is enabled only up to 1h after blocking, and if you enable the function, it is so that the port is always enabled.
