It is a function that is active in the accessibility menu of the iPhone since it helps to recognize sounds by sending notifications directly to our iPhone. In Apple they have added this option in the Hearing settings within the Accessibility section.
This sound recognition allows users to detect sounds similar to those of a siren, a cat, a dog, a bell, a child of water, a crying baby, cough, etc ... The moment the iPhone recognizes one of these sounds, it will send a notification automatically.
When activating this function, bear in mind that the sounds detected by the iPhone at the moment of activating this function are deactivate the option to invoke our assistant through the «Hey Siri» and it must also be taken into account that from Cupertino we do not recommend the use of this recognition when circumstances may cause injury, damage or any risk to people. At Apple "they are cured in health" since this recognition is not 100 × 100 safe, it can fail.
In most cases they do not have to but it is better to use it as an aid and not depend exclusively on this type of recognition. To configure and activate this sound recognition we simply have to follow the next steps:
- Enter Settings and then Accessibility
- Find the option «Sound recognition» in the Hearing section
- Activate the function and click on Sounds
The moment we activate one of these sounds, a warning will appear about the deactivation of the "Hey Siri" function while we have this recognition active. On the other hand The function of activating or deactivating this sound recognition once configured can be done easily from the control center of our iPhone.
