How to add music that is not in Apple Music

Apple Music has a large enough catalog so that most of what we are looking for in Apple's new streaming service appears, but you can always make a certain album or artist that has been left out because of not having reached an agreement with Apple. The most notorious cases are those of The Beatles or Prince, but there are many others. If you miss an album or artist in the Apple Music catalog, don't worry, since thanks to the integration with iTunes Match you can easily add these titles to your Music and enjoy them from any of your devices as if it were inside Apple Music. We explain how.

In the example we are going to use one of the best known Beatles compilation albums, "1", which does not appear in Apple Music. As with any album that we want to add to iTunes, we just have to drag the folder to the iTunes window and it will automatically be added. We already have the album in iTunes but it is not in iCloud yet to be able to use it from any device.

If you look at each song title, a dotted cloud appears on the right, which means that it is not in iCloud, only on our computer. What we are going to do is have Apple identify it and look for its correspondence with the music it has in its iTunes catalog (where The Beatles are). This is the most delicate step, since requires the music to be correctly tagged so that it is identified by the album you have and not by any other. If it is not labeled, the best thing is to go to the album art and choose the option "Get information" by manually entering the title, year, artist, etc.

We already have our album correctly labeled and now what we have to do is add it to iCloud. Right click again on the album cover and we choose the option «Add to iCloud music library». After a few minutes or seconds the album will already be in your iCloud library, and therefore on all your devices with Apple Music.

Even you can remove the download from your computer and let it be heard via streaming. Notice that my music library on my computer is all in iCloud, not on the computer, identified by the small cloud that appears in the lower right corner. You can do the same on your iPhone or iPad, depending on whether you want to listen to it offline or through an internet connection. The Beatles are already on my Apple Music thanks to these simple steps.

You need to have the latest version of iTunes and Apple Music activated

Hi Luis, in my case, the option "add to ICloud library" does not appear either, if I have apple music in the 3-month trial period, but I have not contracted iTunes Match (€ 24.99 / year), I think that is our problem ...

    1.    Luis Padilla said

That should not be the problem, since I have not purchased it either.

Yes, thank you very much for the info, for those who do not see the option, for some reason if you already had the album on iTunes, you have to delete it and add it again, so the option already appears

I label the data of the songs but when I select the option to add to the iCloud music library, nothing happens, the cloud still appears with broken lines. What could I do? Thank you.

I have a windows 10 PC and install the itunes, I have an ipad 4
when I add music to my icloud library from my pc it loads correctly, it plays without problems in the itunes of my pc, but on the ipad the music appears with covers and everything but nothing is heard, it does not play even this gray, simply not heard.
I have tried several options and still do not find results, they even tell me that reporting this I earn money hahaha I doubt it after reading all these complaints, if I add music to my library of iclouds from my PC it is because they are albums or songs that are not in iTunes, as far as I know that is not an impediment since I have seen that from a mackbook pro they do the same procedure as me and achieve their mission.
maybe this error is only for windows i will appreciate if someone can help me.

Does it work with songs that are not on iTunes? I have some weird songs that I had to download from the internet. But when I turn on apple music, it just doesn't go over to my other devices. In other words, they do not appear on my iPhone even though I have them in my iTunes library. Which is frustrating.

Hello. To transfer your iTunes library to your iPhone, you first have to disable the iCloud library on the iPhone, sync the music as before Apple Music, re-enable the iCloud library, and select "Merge" when you do. ask what to do with what you had on your iPhone.

      A greeting.
