How to add time zone support in Calendar?

Time Zone Support

In these last weeks, in Actualidad iPad we are teaching many things related to iOS 7, that is, we are creating custom tutorials so that all users do not get lost in this new version of iOS that Apple recently published. There are many new functions in the operating system, but many of them are intuitive and repetitive, so in Actualidad iPad we are focusing on the different people who use an iPad, from a child who wants to learn how to download applications to an adult who you might want to know how to restrict internet access from your iDevice.

Today I will talk about how to add a time support to an appointment on your iDevice calendar. Let's take an example: I am going to the United States because I have a work meeting and I have added many things to do in my iPad calendar with their respective hours. But of course, the time will be in Spain therefore I will have to add a time zone support. This new feature will avoid confusion: If I set the United States time zone, all the appointments that I have placed in the calendar will be modified by the United States time.

Adding a time zone in the calendar

As I have told you, the time zone support will serve for the following:

If we add a time zone support on our iPad, it will always show us the dates and times of the events in the chosen time zone. In other words, if I choose the Beijing time zone, all the appointments on my calendar will be temporarily modified by the Beijing time zone.

To do this, follow the following steps:

Time Zone Support

  • Go to the Settings of your terminal and look for the option: «Mail, contacts, calendars«

Time Zone Support

  • Once you are in that section, search for the word «Calendars»And within all the options enter the one that put:«Time zone support«

Time Zone Support

  • By default, this function is deactivated, so if you want to activate it, just activate the option: "Time zone support"

Time Zone Support

  • When activated, go to «Timezone»And select the place where you want the hours of your calendar to be modified.

And if you access your calendar, the hours have changed so it will help you to focus on your work in the selected country. Is it useful to you?

Good morning: this Friday I'm going to the US; I have on my calendar dates and times of food and visits to monuments. I have done what is indicated in this post but now I get that if the meal was at 15:9 p.m. and now it says that it is at XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. ... what did I do wrong? Or should it only be activated when you are already in that time zone?

    Thank you

      Good afternoon !!

What this time support does is convert the times of the appointments to the time of the chosen country. For example, if I am in Spain and I have a meeting at 19:00 p.m. (Spanish time) when activating the function, it will show me that instead of 19:00 p.m. it will be at 10:00 a.m. since in the United States there is a time difference 9 hours.

      regards

Then I better not do it because I already go with the hours of the appointments; if I change them, what a mess 😉

        Thank you
