What cleaning materials do I need?

This is undoubtedly the first of the questions that arise. Cleaning items and tools. Some of those that we will propose here will already be present in your home, since they are quite traditional cleaning elements, however, we will link you to all our proposals in case you need to make a last-minute purchase.

  • Isopropyl alcohol: This alcohol is specifically designed to carry out this type of cleaning without damaging the electronic components. In this way, we will ensure that during the fine-tuning process the result is ideal, without compromising the structure or functionality of the elements that we treat. It has a very low cost and you can probably buy it in your trusted supermarket.
  • Precision brush: Like any other brush that we use to clean shoes, textiles or surfaces, but in a noticeably smaller size. With these brushes we will be able to properly clean the holes corresponding to the Lightning port, the microphones and of course also the speakers.
  • Glass cleaner: This is the ideal element to clean especially the frames, the screen and the back glass of our iPhone. In this way it will shine like the first day without causing any damage.
  • Microfiber cloths: Last but not least, which may be the most necessary element, these cloths will allow us to clean our device without causing scratches. It is interesting that we always choose options that are designed to clean glass or steel, because this way we ensure that we do not create micro-abrasions on our devices.
  • A toothpick or "toothpick".

Since we already have the shopping list, the time has come to get down to work and clean.

How to clean iPhone

The first thing we are going to do is take a small container (shot glass, coffee or similar) and fill it to 20% of its capacity with a little isopropyl alcohol, since we are going to need it to slightly wet the cleaning brush.

Followed we're going to take one of the microfiber cloths and we're going to put it on the table. We will work on top of this cloth, which will be used exclusively for this. Right at this moment we are going to remove the cover and, moistening one of the microfiber cloths with glass cleaner, we are going to proceed to clean the cover from the inside, especially around the edges, which is where dirt usually gets inside. When we have finished with the cover, we will place it outside the cloth, we are done with it.

The next is clean the grilles, microphones and headphones. To do this we are going to dip the brush in isopropyl alcohol, we dry the excess alcohol on the cloth that is on the table, and we will make horizontal movements, from side to side, never pressing, but "sweeping", on the handset of the screen. Then we will also repeat the action in the lower grilles where both the speaker and the microphone of the iPhone are located. It is important, at this point, that we do not exert pressure on the grids, since in this case, instead of cleaning the dirt, we would be introducing it inside the iPhone.

Every time we have finished cleaning the corresponding grids, it is time to reach for the toothpick. We are going to introduce it without exerting force, and very carefully, through the Lightning port, all the way in, but without exerting pressure.

We will introduce it from one side, and we will sweep to the other side, trying to extract any type of fluff that was inside. It is vitally important that we do not exert any kind of pressure, since we could damage the Lightning port, which is quite delicate.

You'll be amazed at how much lint and dirt you can get out of it. Now our iPhone is almost ready, the easiest thing comes. We are going to moisten a microfiber cloth very lightly in glass cleaner, and we are going to pass the cloth making gentle movements through the bezels of the iPhone, the back and finally the screen. At this point, it is important to keep in mind that if we have tempered glass, we must exert a little pressure on the sides so that the cloth correctly cleans the dirt that remains between the tempered glass and the iPhone screen. This would be the last step and we would already have our iPhone clean as a whistle.

How to clean AirPods

To clean our Airpods We are going to use exactly the same products that we have used to clean the iPhone, and in addition, the same cleaning tricks will be useful:

  1. Remove the case from your AirPods and clean the inside with glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth.
  2. Take out the AirPods, and clean the inside of the case with a microfiber cloth very lightly dampened with glass cleaner.
  3. Run the precision brush dipped in isopropyl alcohol through all the AirPods grills located at the top, and the grill at the bottom, identified as black or silver.
  4. Clean any white areas with the microfiber cloth.
  5. Clean the outside of the charging case with the microfiber cloth.

It's that easy to have your AirPods ready too.
