How to create a free developer account and associate it with Xcode

Xcode

iOS 9 allows the installation of any type of application on our devices without the need for them to be in the App Store or to have the Jailbreak. Apple introduced this novelty and so far it has been used to install some applications that have appeared outside the App Store, such as emulators and other applications that we have seen on GitHub and that we already talked about at the time. But it is true that the procedure is not too direct, and that in addition to having to use Xcode, it requires being registered in Apple's developer program, something that on the other hand is free. We will explain both procedures below.

Create free developer account

Apple offers two types of developer accounts: free and paid. The free accounts are more than enough to install applications from outside the App Store, although they have their limitations such as not having access to the iOS or OS X Betas. But since what it is about here is to install applications with Xcode, we we focus on these types of accounts that will not cost you a penny.

AppleID

The first is create our Apple account (if you don't have it). It's very simple: click on this link and fill in the requested information. Once created (or if you already had it before) you can go to the next step.

Developer

Now what we are going to do is sign up for Apple's developer program for free. Tap on this link and fill in the fields with the account you just created (or the one you already have). Accept the terms of service that appear on the next screen and You will already have your account registered in the skinner program to be able to use Xcode.

Add your account to Xcode

Xcode is the application that allows you to create applications for iOS. We are not going to go that far, we are only going to use this application to sign those applications that others have created and that we want to install on our device in an "alternative" way to the App Store. If you haven't downloaded it to your computer (only available for Mac OS X) click on this link To download it. Also remember that if you use a Beta version of iOS or tvOS you must use Xcode Beta.

xcode-1

Launch Xcode and go to Preferences. Click on Accounts and in the lower left corner click on the "+" sign to add a new account.

xcode-2

Enter the details of the account with which you registered in the developer program and you will already have your account added to Xcode to work with it. Notice that in the account details it appears that for both iOS and Mac it is free. Now you can install applications on your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV from outside the App Store. Here are some examples:

And here you go the general procedure to install any application using Xcode:

Hi Luis, I have the same problem as Pablo, I can't register any device on the developers page. As much as I have searched for info, I do not know how to do it because the option does not appear.
    Any solution???
    Thank you
