How to create wallpapers to enjoy the parallax effect in iOS 7

Parallax Wallpapers for iOS 7

One of the features of iOS 7 is the Parallax effect that affects the wallpapers and that, depending on how we tilt the device, it will give us the feeling that there is a certain depth with respect to the rest of the interface elements. This effect is available for the iPhone 4s onwards and although any image works to enjoy this effect, here is a tip that will help you achieve a much better result.

Surely many of you use images with the native resolution of the iPhone screen, however, these types of photos are not the best to enjoy the Parallax effect. To solve this, all you have to do is choose an image that adds 200 pixels to each side of the photograph, leaving the recommended minimum size summarized in the following list:

  • iPad 2 and iPad mini: 1,424 x 1,424 pixels
  • iPad 3 and iPad 4: 2,448 x 2,448 pixels
  • iPhone 4S: 1,360 x 1,040 pixels
  • iPhone 5: 1,536 x 1,040 pixels

As you can see, the secret is nothing more than have extra pixels to be able to show more content of the photo when we tilt the iOS device.

If, on the other hand, you do not like the parallax effect and want disable itAll you have to do is go to the Settings menu> General> Accessibility and activate the Reduce movement option.

We hope that this trick You found it useful when there are only a few hours left for the final version of iOS 7 to be officially available for download.

    does this affect the battery?

It will always use more battery with the parallax effect activated than if we deactivate it, even so, you will still have to charge it every night. It is not a very demanding function. Greetings!

why don't they put some kuantas images for the ipad 2 k i have no idea how to add those 200 pixels

It is simply increasing the size of the image. You have summarized the minimum sizes above and it is something that with any editor, however simple it may be, you can do.

Panoramic backgrounds were not available in the latest beta of ios7. Do you know if they have put them back in the final version?

Well, honestly, I did not understand your explanation! How do I add those 200 pixels to each side of the photo? Is there an application for that? Sorry for not being intuitive like the rest!

It is simply increasing the size of the photo. You have the minimum sizes summarized in the post.

Very good post, a shame that the subject of pixels generates so much doubt, perhaps you will have to make a mini tutorial with XD photochop, greetings!

If I have a 640 x 1136 size image, what size do I have to put it so that it fits well with the parallax effect?
