Last week and without previous news or rumors, the social network Twitter presented the Fleets, a new option that Twitter makes available to us to tell stories, ephemeral stories that last 24 hours, after which they are automatically deleted.
The creators of these stories know at all times which users have accessed their stories, either out of curiosity or if they found some way to disable them. Unfortunately, like the rest of the platforms that have implemented this method of telling stories, We cannot deactivate them but we can silence them.
Like the Twitter function that we allows to silence those accounts that we follow (generally by commitment) but we are not interested in anything they can publish, Twitter also allows us to silence the Fleets published by any of the accounts we follow while still silencing the account.
Turn off Twitter Fleets
Method 1
- The quickest way to bypass the display is to press and press and hold the history icon from account.
- Next, click on Mute @ account name.
- Finally, the option that allows us to mute only Fleets on that account.
Method 2
- If you are curious to see the Fleets published by the accounts you follow before silencing them, to silence them click on one of them.
- Next, click on the arrow displayed to the right of the post and to the left of the X that allows us to close the story.
- Then click on Mute @ account name and finally on Mute Fleets.
Unfortunately, if the users we follow have gotten used to these stories, we must carry out the process one by one. Hopefully, they are probably tired of using them by now and you just follow accounts that are still interested in this new Twitter post format.
