How to fix the "lag" after installing iOS 9

ios-9-lag-repair

There are not few users who are complaining about a few small jerks or lag especially in aspects related to the SpringBoard, such as sliding the Control Center, accessing the Notification Center or going to Spotlight, especially in this last function is where users are encountering the most obstacles, it seems that the update via OTA to iOS 9 from previous versions of iOS is bringing a queue and there are hundreds of complaints, however, it seems that the solution is quite simple, more so than we could imagine, a detail that few would realize and in Actualidad iPhone what you have.

In iOS updates as large as the transition from iOS 8 to iOS 9, I always recommend restoring the device to later include a backup, or preferably restore the device to the latest available version of iOS and set it up as a new iPhoneIt will not take you more than a while and it is only once a year, which could considerably increase the performance of your device.

First of all we will check with the greatest possible certainty that we have or not that unpleasant lag, To check it, we must test the animations in general, moving the Notification Center, the Control Center and entering Spotlight through swipe, simple checks to see if any small jerk hits us. If you have suffered from these jerks before and you think you don't need to verify it, go ahead with these steps:

  1. We do not direct to «Settings«
  2. Once in Settings, we go to «General" Y "Accessibility«
  3. First we enter «Increase contrast«, To activate the« driverReduce transparency»And« Darken colors ».
  4. Without leaving Settings, we go back to «Reduce movement»And we also activate it.
  5. Now is when we press the «home» button to return to the SpringBoard and once there we close all the active applications in the multitask (by pressing twice on home).
  6. We redo the previous checks of the Control Center, and Notification Center.
  7. We turn again to «Settings»And we carry out steps 3 and 4 in reverse, we deactivate these options again to leave it as before.

There are many users of different forums who are reporting that this method is working for them, and many others who find no difference. However, I take the opportunity to thank my partner Artjom Olegovic who has hit the key through the forums of 9to5mac and other reliable sources, and I recommend to those who have problems with a small lag to carry out these steps, it costs nothing and you can avoid these small problems.

Unquestionably it has no computer reason, it seems that this small lag is caused by some process that gets jammed in the SpringBoard or something similar. If it worked for you, feel free to tell us in the comment box.

The truth, I prefer to wait for comments, if it worked for someone, since I updated an iPad mini and had that problem and apart from the lag when writing in any application, my solution? Go back to iOS 8.4.1

I'll tell you: After updating my ipad it would hang me every two by three and I had to turn it off and on. Wait for new updates and it was still the same. It occurred to me to search on Google using the term lag and ¡Milagro! your article appeared. I did everything you indicate and problem solved. A million thanks. I had never written in a blogspot, but my gratitude is immense and it is only fair to thank you. A hug.

how is iOS 9 on an iPad 3? Has anyone installed it?

It goes bad, but in iOS 9.1 it is much better, I am testing the beta and notice that it is much more stable and fluid than the official version of iOS 9.

Well, I did the trick to remove the lag on my iPad 3 and it worked for me, since I had that lag.

I am in the same doubt as Xavi. Anyone who can give us feedback?

I installed it on an IPad 2 and it goes with a little lag, nothing alarming. Greetings!

I installed the iOS 9 from scratch on my iPhone 6 plus and now it is very fluid and without jerks.
I recommend to those who have iPhone 5S / iPhone 5 to install iOS 8.4.1 from scratch because iOS 9 is laggy, I recommend waiting until version 9.1

Well, in a 5s I'm doing better than ever and the battery lasts a lot longer.

Iphone 5S updated to iOS 9 after 8.2, and if it was jerking, nothing alarming.
I have performed the steps detailed in the article and it seems to work, we will have to wait for the rest of the day, just in case, but hey, it is something that Apple will fix yes or yes in 9.0.1.
    regards

Well, if you only activate the option to reduce transparency, the lag disappears tested in an iPhone 6 Plus but this makes it take away visual quality, (the transparency of the notifications or control center disappears, it comes out completely black) I hate to think that the device is going to jerk for performance issue since if you deactivate reduce transparency the lag returns I am seriously considering returning to ios 8.4 greetings.

Yes, since I updated, I was presented with this LAG.
I'm going to do what they say, see how it goes

  9.   joket said

No, it does not work. I did as they say and the jerks always continue

  10.   Alberto said

The same thing happened to me, even restoring from scratch and without installing the backup, the way the "lag" was solved was to "restore all the configuration" from settings

    1.    David said

Do you mean "reset settings" or "clear contents and settings" and reinstall everything?

The problem, although you did not believe it is the damn RAM memory! 1Gb !!! insufficient no matter how much apple insists on saying yes ... I have iOS9 on an iphone 6 Plus and the iPad air 2 with 2Gb of Ram and the difference is abysmal !!! You will see that iOS9 runs well on the iPhone 6s that also has 2Gb of Ram ... That is the damn problem! how crawling these are from Apple that having enough technology to have put from the iPhone 5 2 Gb of Ram they have not put it until now, making the iPhone 6 the most affected by being the newest and most recent obsolete device! !!

iOS 9 locks iPads and iPhones are rubbish

  13.   Richard said

It is very sad that you have to do that to make the device go faster. That is a problem with version x.0, so we would have to wait for the next one that will polish bugs with complete safety.

    Thank you.
    It is solved.
You had to give it time.
    LUCK and patience.

Amazingly works on ipad mini 3 😀

I have it on an iPad 2 and it is similar to iOS 8.4.1

I did these steps without having read it anywhere before and the small lag in the multitasking slider and when opening and closing applications was solved.

That is if whatsapp on iphone 5 totally closed takes more than 2sg from going from black screen to showing the application

I updated an ipad 3 and an iPhone 5, as for the ipad 3 I do not recommend it at all, it is very encouraged, I had to download it.

As for the iPhone 5 it slows down a bit but the change is hardly noticeable, I left it at ios 9.

    Greetings.

The answer is simple. iOs is a super limited system, due to the programming and hardware limitations and the low quality of the iphone components (we already know of its insulting programmed obsolescence for those who have paid such a surcharge), the operating system for the phone to work must be super limited, hence it cannot do such simple things that Android has for centuries, such as transferring any type of file and without the need for iTunes, using the terminal as a mass storage unit, usb otg, transferring files via bluetooth to any device, or simply that the whats app send itself when the signal is lost and recovered !!!!!!! Absurd haha. Well, in this iOs they have tried multitasking! Imagine, multi-tasking on a low-end phone, with a gig of ram and a slow, 2-core processor. Well, the lag is here for what to happen, until Apple decides to make quality phones and stop using cheap materials, that do not bend just by putting them in the pocket of the pants

Hello good from my experience I have installed ios9 in my 2 devices; iphone 5s and iphone 6plus, I go by parts:
    - Iphone 6 plus: I notice lags / jerks when pressing the home button to return to the home screen, sometimes calls or Whatsapps do not sound to me, as if they were silent, the battery issue because it practically lasts the same.

    - Iphone 5s: there are considerably less lags or jerks than in the 6 plus, which I do not understand because the 6 plus is supposed to have a better processor, it happens the same way that sometimes incoming calls and WhatsApp do not ring, the battery lasts a little less.

What I do not conceive is that with each new version of ios that we install they tell us or
advise us to deactivate phone options so that it goes better and has better performance and less lags, having as I have a 6plus latest model, it is that no, because if not why do I want so many functions or effects if later they tell me to deactivate
half, very bad Apple, ios 9.1 already, that all these errors are corrected.

It didn't have to slow down anything! "Just cheer him on a bit", as if to justify Apple ...
It should improve the user experience. This has always been the case in the world "outside Apple."
Oh well. Sooner or later you will see it.
    Greetings from an ex-user.

I have an iPhone 5C, honestly, everything works fine with iOS 9 except Spotlight and WhatsApp, especially when I write and go to the next line, I get lagged and it doesn't advance until a few seconds later, but it lasts a long time, just like when I send a message through whatsapp, it takes time to deliver because it stays stuck and I can't do anything on the screen. Is there a way to fix that? Anyone else feels the same? What can I do, since this lag is uncomfortable.

    Thank you.

  26.   Antonio Vazquez said

Nothing. It is best to disable the apps that cause problems.
And have it turned off so that it lasts longer.

It worked on my iPhone 6!

    Thank you very much.

Question: Is there no way to go back to the old multitasking windows display?
