How to identify the model of your iPhone and iPad

iPhone-iPad

Identifying the exact model of iPhone or iPad that we have in our hands is sometimes difficult. The devices are sometimes very similar even between different generations, and Apple does not use inscriptions on the surface of the devices that allow us to easily recognize the exact model. And many times, despite knowing the model, sometimes all we have are numerical sequences that we hardly know how to extrapolate to the names that we all know. Sometimes it is necessary to know these details, for example to download a specific signature, since there are different files that correspond to each model, and downloading the wrong one is a waste of time.

That is why we have prepared some tables in which we have all the iPad models, from the first generation, and all the iPhone models from the 3GS, with their respective identifiers, including the colors and capacities in which they are available, to know if we are facing an iPad Mini GSM or GSM + CDMA in a simple way, and thus know which firmware corresponds to you and don't download the wrong one. ¿How do we know which model we have? Look at the back of your device, in the letters there. Find the code that in the table corresponds to the item in the column «Model». All devices have that code engraved.

The products in which you see the "Rev A" variant refer to a update that was made after launch of the product. This occurs in the iPad 2G that is still sold, only available in 16GB and WiFi capacities, and the iPhone 4 that is still sold only in the 8GB capacity.

But that table is wrong. IPhone 4 has 16, 32, 64 GB

No, confirmed with Apple's own page.

I sneaked in with the 64. What I wanted to say is that the first iPhone 4 had 16 or 32. But not 8.
