How to install Cydia for iOS 8 manually

cydia-package

Yesterday we told you that the jailbreak for iOS 8.1 that had been announced from the developer account Pangu, who was also the author of the previous unlocking in force until today for the previous versions of iOS. However, that version was not like the others we were used to in the jailbreak world. It was a tool designed exclusively for developers, therefore, it had certain shortcomings for the general public. One of them was that it did not precisely include the Cydia installation packages.

That was solved with the contribution of another developer, that Cydia proposed us to add Manually via a data pack download link from the famous jailbroken store. However, while it was actually a good formula to have the unlock before there is a full version, the installation is not such a simple process that it falls into the hands of just anyone. Today we are going to give you the steps to follow to be able to install Cydia on iOS 8 jailbreak, but we warn you that you should know what you are doing before proceeding with the steps described below.

Step by step to manually install Cydia

  • The first thing to do, if we haven't done it yet, is to jailbreak our iPhone. Next, you have to download the data packages for the Cydia installation. You can do it from this  link, or from this other link to run from your PC or Mac OS X ..
  • You will need to send the file to your device via SFTP. If you are on Mac, the best thing you can do is install the Cyberduck application, and in case you use Windows, opt for WinSCP.
  • Make sure now that both your computer and your iOS device are connected to the same WiFi network. Obtain the IP address of it, through the route Configuration> WiFi, and then press the "i" button on the network to which you are connected. Write down the serial numbers of these.
  • Now open the program that you downloaded in the previous step according to the operating system you use on your computer, and use the IP addresses that you had previously noted. For the user, enter root, and for the password, enter alpine.
  • Now you should see a file browser where you could load the downloads we had from step one. Put them in a location that you can easily remember later.
  • Now press Ctrl + T or ⌘ + T to start an SSH command line. Access the same folder, using the commands, in which you had saved the files in the previous step.
  • Now, type the following commands in order: 'dpkg -i cydia-lproj_1.1.12_iphoneos-arm.deb' 'dpkg -i cydia_1.1.13_iphoneos-arm.deb' (all without quotes)
  • If you get any error or bug that add-ons are missing, you can try downloading them from this link and repeat the process.
  • Now restart the device, and in case everything went well, you should have the Cydia store on your screen.

As you see, the manual installation of Cydia It is not as simple a process as we are used to seeing in finished jailbreak versions. And that is precisely why it is remembered that it is a version for developers and that all those users without knowledge should wait for the official version of iOS 8.1 jailbreak to be released for all audiences, in which effectively, all these steps will not have sense, since they will already be included.

So this means that soon we will have cidya for ordinary users who are not developers?

    - Is it really worth updating and jailbreaking?
    - What tweaks are compatible with this new ios?
    - Developers have to adapt them or can you use the tweaks of ios7?

Auxo 2 and swipe are two essential tweaks on an ios device and the truth is that once you get used to them, writing and switching between apps becomes very clumsy.

everything is fine with WinSCP everything is working perfectly but I recommend that you create folders inside var so that it looks like / var / root / Media / Cydia / Autoinstall and inside the latter put the cydia files once inside we open terminal and paste this code dpkg –install cydia-lproj_1.1.12_iphoneos-arm.deb cydia_1.1.13_iphoneos-arm.deb NOTE: after dpkg there are two scripts because then that is what marks the error for me until I saw well that They were 2 I hope it works for them since it worked perfectly for me only that we have to wait for all the tweeks to be updated and I have it installed in the 8.1 version of ios on an ipod touch 5g greetings.
