Without having to download profiles from unreliable pages or go around with downloads from unknown sources, Apple offers you the possibility to install the Public Beta in a reliable way, and these are all the steps you must follow so that everything goes well. We give you all the details below.
Make a backup
You never know how things can turn out, and it's always best to have it all backed up in case there were problems and you had to back down. We will not use the backup to restore it in iOS 12, far from it, but in case we have to go back to iOS 11 and thus not lose anything we have. since if you make a copy of iOS 12 it will not work for iOS 11. The backup can be done in iCloud or in iTunes.
To make the backup in iTunes you can do it by connecting your iPhone or iPad to the USB of your computer, open the iTunes application and click on the iPhone icon at the top of the window. There you must choose the option of save backup copies on your computer and make the copy right now.
If you want to make the copy more easily in iCloud, you can do it from the terminal settings, within iCloud. Everything will depend on the storage space you have available in the Apple cloud, and it may take a little longer because you have to upload it to the cloud. If you want to avoid all this, lor better is that you waste a few minutes connecting it to the computer and do it the old-fashioned way.
Sign up for the Apple Public Beta
The Public Beta program does not require a developer account and there is no need to pay anything. It is a program open to anyone who so wishes and the only requirement is to have an Apple account, something that everyone with an Apple device already has. The registration process is very simple.
You must go to this link Directly to the Apple page and click on "Sign Up" if you weren't a member, or "Sign in" if you already were. After entering your account and password, you will have access to all the Public Betas that Apple has available (iOS, macOS and tvOS). The next step is to download the profile that will give you access to the Beta, so from the iOS device that you want to update to iOS 12 you must access this link direct to Apple to download the profile on the same device and have it installed.
Once the profile has been downloaded and installed on your iPhone or iPad, restart the device and access its Settings. In the "General> Software updates" section you will see the new update available. Whenever there are new updates, it will appear right there, as long as you keep the iOS 12 Public Beta profile installed.
