Evad3rs, the same people in charge of the previous iOS 6 Jailbreak, are the ones in charge of launching this Jailbreak before the end of 2013. What do we need to do it and what are the steps we have to follow? We explain everything step by step.
We need to download the application, free of charge, from the official website of Evasi0n. It is also necessary that our device has been updated to the version of iOS 7 that we have through iTunes, no updates via OTA. If you have updated via OTA, you must restore your device with iTunes. Previously, it is convenient that you make a backup of your device to restore it once the installation of iOS 7 has been completed.
We already have our device ready to jailbreak. We must run Evasi0n 7 on our computer, with our device connected to it, and the application will detect which device and which firmware version we have connected. We click on the "Jailbreak" button and we wait.
At about the middle of the process, we will be asked to Let's unlock the device, and click on the "Evasi0n 7" icon that will have appeared on our springboard. We will still not be able to disconnect our device from the USB of our computer. We wait for the process to continue.
Depending on whether our device is code locked or not, it may ask us once again to unlock the device or not. When the process is done, the "Done!" message will appear. and we can then press the «Exit» button and disconnect our device.
We will already have Cydia installed on our iPhone or iPad, but be careful, because most applications can still be installed. Mobile Substrate and most applications need to be updated to be compatible with iOS 7. Applications that depend on Mobile Substrate, such as SBSettings, cannot be installed until then. The best thing is that we have patience and hope that in the next few days Evad3rs, Saurik and all the Cydia developers complete their work.

For some readers it has worked without problems after updating via OTA. What Evad3rs recommends is to restore through iTunes, and that is what I have written in the article. If you have a backup made, you can try to do it as you say, but you may end up having to restore through iTunes. -

It has nothing to do with OTA updates. It is happening to a lot of people after updating via iTunes (including myself). There are even pages where possible "solutions" are reported; 1st retry, 2nd restore and wait for a new version of Evasi0n to come out.

If you want to be sure that everything works fine, wait for the Mobile Substrate to be updated. If at any point Apple releases iOS 7.1, immediately launch to update to iOS 7.0.4 before they close it, it always takes a few hours (even days) until that happens.
