Yesterday half the continent of Oceania had serious connection problems with the iCloud servers and with all the services associated with Apple's cloud storage. The impossibility of connection and the null response from Apple, stirred the spirits on Twitter. Despite the fact that this side of the world, no user reported any failure in the servers, nor in the normal operation of iCloud or other services of the apple company, we have taken advantage of the news and the anger of Australia and New Zealand, the countries where the error was concentrated to explain how to know if iCloud or some other Apple service is down.
Surely the first answer that occurs to us is that if it does not work for us, it has fallen. However, before being so clear on the statement, it should be verified that it is not a problem of our own that we may have, both with our terminal and with our connection to the network. But you do not need complex tools for this, since Apple has its own website where you can check incidents, and although it is not one of the best known services, it is particularly useful in these cases.
The official support page that we mention is here, and from it you can consult all Apple services, online store connections and iCloud. That is, in principle, if there is a specific problem, it should appear in that place. However, what users from New Zealand and Australia reported yesterday is that Apple had not raised any alert to the support website, something that caught their attention because on Twitter the alleged iCloud crash caused quite a stir.
Probably, at least in view of the fact that there is no official response, and that it is only about two specific countries, it would have been some connection error that only affected these two nations, and that for the same reason it was not reflected on the web as a global drop in services.
