Password-Alfanumerica1

Security is one of the most important aspects both in Apple devices and in other devices. Devices with Android operating system have a multitude of ways to unlock the terminal while Apple has: Numeric passwords, Touch ID and alphanumeric passwords. You may wonder ... What are alphanumeric passwords? They are those in which letters, numbers and symbols are combined. For many experts alphanumeric passwords are the most secure and in this post we are going to teach you how to establish one of these passwords to unlock your iPad. Let's go there!

Set an alphanumeric password to unlock your iPad

The goal of this little tutorial is improve the security of your device Setting an alphanumeric password when unlocking the terminal is a very simple process that I explain here:

  • Enter the iOS Settings and then the "Code" tab
  • If you don't have a code activated, click on 'Activate code' and enter a code that you can remember. If you have the code activated, keep reading.
  • Below is a button called 'Simple Code' which is enabled by default. A simple code is a password of 4 numeric digits whereas what we are looking for it is a password of numbers, letters and symbols. For this we deactivate the button and enter the code that we had previously entered to 'Activate the code'.
  • A window will appear where we will have to enter our alphanumeric password. It can have uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols ... and the extension that you want, but don't go overboard because you will have to enter it every time you unlock your iPad.

After performing these steps, lock the device and you will see a new interface when try to unlock, a normal keyboard (dark) where you will have to type the alphanumeric password configured to unlock the iDevice. Easy, safe and of course, without any additional application.

It's good info, I use a numeric key on my iPad because it is an iPad Air and I am lazy to enter very long codes every time I unlock them, but on my iPhone 6 I do use an alphanumeric key of about 28 characters approx. I only have to enter it when I restart the phone, the rest of the time I use the fingerprint. Let thieves worry about finding out the alphanumeric password of my smartphone 😛
