The fourth generation Apple TV will allow us to do much more than previous versions thanks to its own App Store. In the not too distant future we will be able to do almost anything and you may want to record some of them. We can give free rein to our imagination, but one of the first things that immediately comes to mind is to record our games to the games we have on tvOS. If this is already something that is interesting in iOS, in the case of the Apple TV 4, which we remember is also compatible with MFi controls (Made For iPhone - made for iPhone), it makes even more sense. Here we tell you what to do to record Apple TV screen 4.
How to record Apple TV 4 screen
- We connect our Apple TV with the USB-C cable to the Mac and to the power outlet with its corresponding cable.
- We also connect it to our TV with the HDMI cable (otherwise, it won't work. At least in my case).
- On the Mac, we open QuickTime Player.
- We go to the menu and choose New screen recording.
- In the window that opens, next to the record button, we click and we select our Apple TV both on camera and microphone. NOTE: you have to increase the volume as well (from the bar next to the record button) or we will not record the sound.
- We click on the record button.
This method is the same as that used to record the iPhone screen, but in its case we have to use the Lightning cable and it is not necessary to connect the HDMI or connect it to a power outlet. This is possible from iOS 8. Before we had to use third-party applications such as Reflector or other applications that were only available through the jailbreak, but Apple gave us that little whim not too long ago.
