And it is that to eliminate the beta version of our device we have to restore it since currently public beta is not available on iOS 15. So we are going to put the public beta version aside and focus on the developer version.
It is always, always, always recommended to create a backup of all your important files and documents on the device. If you have a Apple Watch paired with iPhone and this is on watchOS 8 beta, you have to remove the beta version of the watch first. To do this we have to open the Watch application on the iPhone, go to the My Watch tab and then to General> Profiles, click on the beta profile and then on «Delete profile».
Remove the developer beta by restoring the device
To remove the developer beta version immediately, you need to erase and restore your device. Then, if you have an archived backup, you can configure it again from that backup. Please note that backups created while using the beta software may not be compatible with older versions of iOS. If you don't have a previous backup made with the current version of iOS, you may not be able to restore your device with the most recent backup.
Make sure your Mac has the latest version of macOS or the latest version of iTunes. Connect your device to your computer and put it in recovery mode. To put the device in recovery, follow the steps below.
- On an iPad with Face ID: Quickly press and release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the volume down button. Press and hold the top button until the device begins to reboot. Keep pressing the top button until the device enters recovery mode.
- For iPhone 8 or later: Quickly press and release the volume up button. Press and quickly release the volume down button. Then press and hold the side button until you see the recovery mode screen.
- For iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus o iPod touch (7th generation): press and hold the Power / Sleep and Volume Down buttons at the same time. Keep pressing them when the Apple logo appears. Keep holding them until the recovery mode screen appears.
- With iPhone 6s or earlier, iPad with Home button, or iPod touch (6th generation or earlier): Press and hold the Sleep / Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Keep pressing them when the Apple logo appears. Keep holding them until the recovery mode screen appears.
Now you can follow the steps to remove developer beta completely:
- Click the Restore option when it appears. This erases the device and installs the current non-beta version of iOS. If the download takes more than 15 minutes and the device exits the recovery mode screen, wait for the download to finish and repeat step 2.
- Wait for the restore to finish. If prompted, enter your Apple ID and password to disable Activation Lock. If the restore process doesn't complete, learn more about what to do.
When the restoration is finished, you can configure your device from the backup you have saved, which must belong to a previous version of iOS 15 that you had in beta version, in case you don't have it, you will have to install everything again. This is something that is not bad either since it allows cleaning the equipment, but nowadays it no longer seems so necessary.
