How to save Apple Music songs for offline listening

apple music app

Yesterday Apple officially launched iOS 8.4 and therefore its new service Apple Music: a multiplatform streaming music service with which we can listen to millions of songs for free for three months (yes, then ... to pay). Inside Apple Music there is a section where artists can communicate with their fans, and one of the most interesting functions of this service is Beats 1 a world radio that works around the clock, seven days a week. In this post I am going to teach you save Apple Music songs so you can listen to them offline. After the jump the tutorial.

Listen to your Apple Music songs offline (offline)

Thanks to the offline mode we can listen to our favorite songs without having to connect to any network of any kind. The music that we want to hear will be downloaded to the device so that it can be listened to without any problem without any connection. This is a great feature for those who travel a lot and like music, but don't have a huge data fee or just don't want to waste their data.

To achieve download songs, albums or playlist from Apple Music for later playback offline follow the following steps:

  1. Open the Music app and enter the sections «For you» or «New»
  2. You can save the albums, songs or playlists that you want to listen to offline. On the right side of each song or album there is a symbol with three circles. Click on it and a list of options will be displayed. If you want to save that music to be able to listen to it offline, you must click on «Available offline«.

Once we do this, the songs will be downloaded in background from the Internet to listen to them offline. Everything you download will be stored in "Your music", where we will have to access it to play it offline.

My question is…. If we decide not to renew the Music service, what happens to the songs that we have downloaded. Are they charged to us? Or disappear?

    1.    Luis Padilla said

You would stop being able to hear them.

Good question Roldwin. The other question would be if I can copy these songs to my PC and if I spend several days without internet, are my music saved offline?

Do the songs that are added to My Music take up storage space on my device?

    1.    Luis Padilla said

Only if you download them to listen to them offline.

Where is this "Available offline" option?

        1.    Luis Padilla said

Now it has changed with the iOS updates. To download music you must click on the cloud that appears in different Music menus.

My question is that if I download them in offline mode, would they be saved in my music or in Apple music? And another question, after three months that downloaded music is deleted from my library?

    1.    Luis Padilla said

THEs that you download to listen to them offline are downloaded to your device, within the Music application. After these three months we do not know if they will be erased, but what is certain is that you will not be able to continue listening to them.

I give it to save a song from Apple Music in a list created by me and, when I open the list in question, the songs do not come out ... When I save, I get a tick «ok» but oranges from China ... That, in Spotify, does not happen ...
    I'm unhinged ...

Does anyone know if it takes more memory to save music offline with apple music or with spotify?
    Beforehand thank you very much

    1.    Luis Padilla said

Well, they should more or less go hand in hand because the bitrate is more or less the same, but I can't confirm it.

One question, the songs that I had physically on the iPhone before Apple Music, now with Apple Music they have happened to be in iCloud I think, after updating to iOS9, I realized that it would not let me listen to them if it was not downloading them previously ... can be? now I have downloaded them (before I had them inside my iPhone) to be able to listen to them offline, but I already had them beforehand as I mentioned before. So they will not? Even if the subscription to Apple Music runs out, right? because I already had them. Greetings and thanks…

    1.    Luis Padilla said

If you had them before, you will only have to synchronize them with iTunes whenever you want them.

  9.   Quim said

Ah! ok, thank you very much and greetings

Is there a limit to the number of songs you can listen to in offline mode? I ask because I have spotify premium but it only lets me listen to 3,000 (three thousand) songs in this mode, and it is something that I do not like about spotify, and I would like to know if there is a limit in apple music and if so, how many songs is the limit? Thanks in advance
