How to fix battery and overheating issue with Ultrasn0w 1.2 and baseband 6.15 (UPDATED)

Apparently many users of the new ultrasn0w 1.2 with baseband 6.15 on iOS 4.2.1 or iOS 4.1 They are having iPhone battery life and overheating issues, this is not exactly due to ultrasn0w, but to hacktivation.

When you activate the iPhone via Redsn0w or PwnageTool, your device continues to request the Push certificate from Apple indefinitely, which results in abysmal battery and data consumption.

Solutions:

The best solution is to redo the process, but this time without hacking, activate the iPhone with an original card. that they lend you and then install Ultrasn0w.

If you can't, another solution is turn off wifi and data from SBSettings when you are not using it, but you will be disconnected all that time and you will not be able to receive emails or notifications.

We are working on an application that you can download from Cydia and will solve this problem.

    Good,
My question is ... How do we prevent the hack? ¿? If in the redsnow options there is nothing to activate iphone

    1.    gnzl said

      You are right Alvaro!
It can only be done with PwnageTool then!
      I modify it!

Another problem that I have observed is the gps that does not recognize it and does not let you use either tomtom or igo or anything similar

Does this ultrasn0w 1.2 and baseband 6.15 overheating happen to everyone? I think it is the first iPhone I have, and I have only been using it as a phone for 2 days, so the higher battery consumption is associated with 3G data traffic, coverage and others ... I have not noticed that the phone is overheating, but maybe it is spending more battery than it should for this problem and I don't know ...

    1.    gnzl said

The thing about the battery is that it melts in 4 or 5 hours

The same thing happened to me with the GPS neither Tomtom nor IGO My Way ... Someone with the same problem

I'm glad to find this post, I was already beginning to think that my 3G was the only thing that happened ... I haven't tried the gps, but the battery is spent pouring milk and it is also true that an egg is heated !!! Hopefully the dev-team fixes it soon. Greetings

The gps thing, it happened to me several times in the 3g when installing ultrasn0w.
There is no way to make them work freed.

    1.    gnzl said

      Have you tried with
      PushFix
      O
      push doctor
      ¿?

  7.   ik4ro said

Ah then, for those who suffer from this problem, the battery lasts a few hours, so I don't have to worry.

I have not tried any GPS, then I check it to see if it works for me

Pffff often roll, every day is more pain in the ass (or it seems to me that I am getting older) to jailbreak and I do not tell you to release.
It is clear that it is worth having it legal, using it with the company you bought it or if you do not want to do that, buy it free, that today they even finance it without interest and it is as if you bought it tied to a company.
    -
Pq with the pleasure that it gives to use the mobile as it is, how smooth it is and everything works perfectly, unlike these rolls, if the gps does not work, if the push does not go, now it consumes a lot of battery, now the wifi fails, the coverage is gone …… .. WHAT THE FUCK FOR GOD, YOU LIKE EVIL

ps the GPS is not working for me either, the push doctor is installed and I did nothing with the custom and with redsn0w and nothing, it does not mark the exact location of the GPS in any of my 2 terminals !!! Before with unlock 5.13 it worked perfect for me, I was walking down the street and the GPS was moving, but now it doesn't even mark me where I am, see if someone tells the DEV-TEAM about the GPS problem to see if they take something out and solve it! !!

  10.   pedro said

by the way I tried on my 3g and 3gs but the GPS does not work see if they send something to the dev-team so that I can take something and solve it!

redsn0w detects when it is activated and does not hack it, I have tested it and it works, without push problems and no battery or anything

restore to 4.1, it will give error 1015 use tinyumbrella and exit recovery mode
    activate with official sim
install cydia with redsn0w 0.9.6b5 and voila

I have jailbroken 2 iPhones with redSn0w and unlocked and changed from BB to 6.15 to three iPhones (two 3Gs and one 3G) and none of them gave me that problem, all were previously activated with the original Sim.
I hope they can solve their problems, and those who have original Sim to restore again without hacking.

Please, when you have the solution, tell us that the battery of my iphone is not charging for 3 hours since it updated ...

  14.   Emanuel said

Does the same happen with pwnage?

    regards

I also had the same battery problem and I downgraded it to 3.1.3 keeping the bb 6.15 and releasing with ultrasnow and it solved the problem for me all day at rest, not under 95% in 3G

Another one that I know has run out of GPS.
It is time to pray to the DEV-TEAM.
    Greetings.

One point: it happens with any baseband, not just 6.15. I've gone crazy with a 3G for a couple of weeks being on 4.1 and it has baseband 05.11.07 ...
I just went up to 4.2.1 with a custon off, and it seems to be going fine. at the moment it doesn't get so hot ...

  18.   Xurru said

I am in 3.1.3 with baseband 5.12.01, yesterday I saw that there was an update of ultrasnow and update. (Although I did not need it) Today I have polished the battery in a brutal way, what can I do? is there any way to downgrade in ultrasnow ??

  19.   m0l said

I am in 4.0.1 even because I am waiting to go directly to 4.2 and when updating ultrasn0w it is giving me problems to recognize the sim…. before I was doing well !!!!

  20.   maxpako said

Hi, it is normal that after restoring an iPhone 3G, without doing ultrasnow, it still has the Baseband 05.15.04, I have updated it 2 times (Mac: with Alt + "Restore") and nothing ...
I do not need this, but it is just a curiosity of the Baseband that carries firmware 4.2.1 for iPhone 3G ... Let's see if someone with the same phone and having legally updated, look at it for a moment please.
    Thank you.

    Good Gnzl,
    Unfortunately, I don't have a mac to use PwnageTool_4.1.2.dmg.

I think that as a good guy you are ... and as a friend of Miguel Michan that I am .. hehehe

You should upload the 3g ipsw (which is mine) hehehehe.

    What do you think?

    Hahaha

Greetings and thank you very much.

    1.    gnzl said

You could not put it in the DFU mode that PnwageTool puts it, which is different, and therefore you could not load the ipsw

Hello, I have an iPhone 3g and I put it to charge and it does not rise than 20% charge, it always appears in the plug on the battery and not the ray as it used to be, also it is to be assumed that that 20% charge does not last 15 minutes .
Does anyone know if this has to do with the release I did to 4.1 with pwgentool.
    Thank you

FRIENDS THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR HEATING IS TO RESTORE WITH THE ORIGINAL IOS 4.1 PREVIOUSLY SAVE THE SSH WITH IREB4.1 OR TINYUMBRELLA AND PROCEED WITH THE RESTORATION, IF ERROR 1015 GETS CORRECT WITH TINYUMBRELLA (EXIT RECOVERY)
NOW THE INTERESTING IS TO ACTIVATE IT WITH ITUNES BUT TO GET ANY AT&T CHIP (I GOT IT IN MERCADOLIBRE AT 20 SOLES) VERY CHEAP TO PROCEED WITH LIMERA1N AND CYDIA, THEN ULTRASN0W 1.2 AND READY TO RESTART THE IPHONE ACTIVATED NEITHER 3G NOR THE SOLENT PROBLEM THAT NEITHER ACTIVATED XNUMXG AND NO PROBLEM GPS DOES NOT WORK BUT I CORRECTED THE MAJOR PROBLEM

  26.   pedro said

BERICK would not be the same with SAM, tbn is activated !! in an original way with itunes !!
