Apple has released an update for its MagSafe battery with the news that now the charging power is 7,5W, so it will recharge your iPhone faster. How is the battery updated? We tell you.
Apple released on the 19th a firmware update for its MagSafe battery. A very controversial accessory due to its quite limited recharging capacity and that also had a charging power of 5W, that is, slow, and all this at a price much higher than that of other similar products from the competition. Well, at least one of the negative points has been greatly improved, because after the last update this MagSafe battery already has a charging power of 7.5W, so it will take less time to recharge your iPhone. In order to enjoy this new feature, the first thing to do is update the battery, but how do you do that?
Apple left us quite lost with the release of the update because we didn't know what was new or how to proceed to install it. We assumed that it would be updated by putting the battery in our iPhone, as if we wanted to recharge it, and this is one of the procedures to do it. The drawback of this method is that the firmware installation can take up to a week. Don't worry and don't panic because there are other procedures that are much faster and just as simple.
To get the MagSafe battery updated to the latest available firmware we can connect it to a Mac or iPad (Air or Pro) using a USB-C to Lightning cable and the procedure will take only a few minutes. Let us remember that the latest firmware available at this time is 2.7.b.0, and that to check which version we have installed we must place the battery in our iPhone and within the Settings> General> Information menu we will have a section dedicated to the MagSafe Battery where we can see your firmware.
