How to use Reactions on WhatsApp

WhatsApp has already launched its new functionality that allows you to react to messages that are sent to you without having to type anything. How are reactions added? How are they removed?

It has been weeks of waiting since we saw the first images of WhatsApp reactions, a functionality that, on the other hand, it takes a long time in other messaging apps like Telegram or even much earlier in iMessage, not to mention Facebook, where this has existed since the dawn of time. But the wait is over and you can now add a reaction to a message without having to write another message, but add an emoticon and the other party will know if you agree, if you like it or if you are surprised.

It is very easy to add a reaction, you just have to click on the message and keep it pressed for a second until the usual contextual menu is displayed, with the difference that now six emoticons will appear at the top, which are the reactions that you can add Click on one of them and it will appear attached to the bottom of the message, and also whoever sent it to you will receive a notification with your reaction. It is as if you were writing a message but without doing it, and you will also keep the chat cleaner.

You can modify the reaction, repeating the operation and choosing other emoticons, which will replace the previous one. In addition, the notification received by the recipient will vary with the new emoticon. You can also remove it, and the notification will disappear. This can only be done for a limited time at the moment, after which it can no longer be modified or deleted.

A simple way for whoever sends a message to know the reactions of the receivers, and that also helps avoid the classic repetitive messages that absurdly fill many group chats, although surely people will react and also send a message.
