I'm tired… of the traps in the App Store

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),

Normally you will see me on the blog analyzing applications or accessories, leaving the news for my colleagues, but after taking my traditional tour of the App Store I could not help but get angry, and I wanted to share this anger with all of you.

I'm tired that going to the Top 25 applications -both free and paid- is synonymous with finding terrible apps, and therefore I am tired that Apple has not yet found an efficient solution against it. boosting in the rankings offered by certain "companies" on the Internet. It is not very difficult to realize the apps to which I refer, since they tend to have uninteresting functions, eternal names, really badly designed icons and in most cases zero ratings, or in the best of cases several of a star scammed people.

I'm tired fake reviews are allowed with impunity, some even written in laughing English by bots or God knows who. The last straw was when I was surprised to see the Danone app in the highest positions of the top. Okay, the yogurts are good, but I don't know if it's enough to go up there. Ignoring this issue, what is most incredible is to see the reviews full of good vibes, perfectly explaining how the app works and blessing its characteristics. It does not cost much to differentiate a paid review (it does not have waste):

The great advantage is that we will no longer have to enter the codes that we find under the covers of Danone products in order to add the points to your Danone account. Through this application and scanning the QR code on Danone products, you automatically add your points to your Danone account.

Of one that is not (which does not have to be bad, in fact it is positive):

It is especially appreciated being able to enter the codes by directly scanning the QR.

I'm tired that Apple does nothing with the applications that stay in the Top of payment having more than 90% of reviews of a star of consumers who feel totally scammed, deceived and even ripped off by the developer in question. Good examples of this are apps such as stickers for WhatsApp or iWepPRO ASV, which accumulate more than 95% of reviews from one star, and I suspect that the one with five stars will be from the developer himself.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),

I'm tired In-App Purchases may be purchased by mistake. Although this is the least serious problem because you have to enter the password and can even be deactivated with parental controls, Apple approves applications that clearly have abusive purchases and that even use tricks and tricks to get the user to bite and end up spending a lot of money . We have already seen several cases of children who have melted the VISA of the parents and we will not take long to see more.

I'm tired that many times the highlights do not make sense, that the updates cannot be configured so that they are carried out automatically, of having Genius in all the medium and that it cannot be removed from there, of the applications with little description or with captures that They do not teach anything and something else, but even with all this the App Store gives the Android Play Store a hundred kicks in terms of quantity and quality of apps. And for a moment I remember and I see that despite all the bad things there are many good things, many more than bad. WWDC is here, changes, news, and the App Store some will fall. Or so I hope.

You are absolutely right ... I do not understand how that can happen in a company where they stand out for always giving their best.

The truth is I agree with you on several things, except in the ranking of apps, if in the end the user knows that the ones that are there are due to downloads or purchases (legal or other types of boosting) not because they are the best in the store. Now if the App got to that position scamming people who had to pay for it, then it would seem wrong to me.

Keep in mind that many iPhone users are not like you or me, we know which app is "garbage" and which is not. My mother herself has an iPhone and if she goes to the App Store she does not distinguish Tweetbot from a scam app made by a Chinese, I assure you ...

You have a lot of free time brother. Tired of working all day, not having the genius icon in the middle and a star app that annoys your eyes

I totally agree with you Carlos. All that should be more controlled in a company like Apple that stands out for its excellence.

The rankins of the App Store as well as the opinions of the "users" are more than contaminated, this application should not be used to seek advice, for that it is better a thousand times AppZapp Pro than although it is not infallible if it is more of use of the true users.

It seems good to me that you criticize what you do not like about the App Store and the things that should change, Apple has an obligation to improve because finally it is the users who spend their money to buy applications, so far so good, I just disagree with you in the sense of why do they always have to mention Android in their Posts? Obviously you are an iOS user and good for you, but it seems that you had not read what happened in the Google I / O a few days ago where important decisions were made regarding the applications and their improvements. Nor do I think you have seen the new version 4.1.6 of Google Play Store, One hundred kicks in quantity ?? At least as of January of this year it is not like this: http://andro4all.com/2013/01/google-play-supera-app-store
One hundred kicks in quality? The App Store applications have the plus that most are paid, unlike the Play Store, so it would be the last straw if paying for an application it provides you with poor quality, and notice that 4 Google applications are in the list of 20 most downloaded in the history of the Iphone: http://www.enter.co/moviles/estas-son-las-aplicaciones-mas-descargadas-en-la-historia-de-ios/
Not counting Maps and Google Now, which are of excellent quality, and in general, with the new Google policies, the apps will brutally improve the interface and quality. Greetings.
