iOS 18 improves Adaptive Audio control on AirPods Pro 2

iOS 18 Adaptive Audio

A few hours ago we were talking about the important developments that Apple had introduced with iOS 18 on the AirPods. These were three features of relatively large importance: Siri Interactions, spatial audio in games and greater voice isolation on the AirPods Pro. However, iOS 18 also brings an important novelty around the Adaptive Audio functions of the AirPods Pro 2. A new control that allows this function not to be all or nothing, but rather the user can adjust the adaptive audio for more or less noise with a sliding bar. We'll tell you then.

AirPods Pro 2 and iOS 18: greater precision in Adaptive Audio

The AirPods Pro 2 (or 2nd generation) include a set of functions within the concept known as Adaptive audio. There are three options: adaptive noise control, custom volume and conversation detection. Thanks to this, the user can modify what they hear and how they hear it depending on the different scenarios where they are. Manzana wanted to promote control over Adaptive Audio in iOS 18 through an important change within the settings of all these functions.

You can customize Adaptive Audio to allow more or less noise

In the menu within Settings a new option appears called Customize Adaptive Audio. When we enter we see a sliding bar in three positions: more noise, less noise and default. That is, with this bar we can decide How much noise do we want to allow into our headphones? when using the full set of Adaptive Audio features. This regulation controls the three functions mentioned above, highlighting, above all, the adaptive noise control and the personalized volume.

The relatively important thing about this new option is that allows the user greater control over their own environment and the sound they receive on their AirPods Pro 2. Remember that this option will be available as long as the AirPods are connected to a device with iOS 18, iPadOS 18 or macOS Sequoia, as long as the AirPods Pro 2 have the latest version of firmware installed.
