The first iPhone had the battery soldered to the board, which made it difficult to replace one of the fundamental parts of the device.
But for a while now, all that has changed, and the average iFixit score, excluding the first model, is 6,5. The iPhone 3G was the first device that achieved one of the highest scores that the iPhone has achieved in the hands of these guys, obtaining a 7 out of 10, just like the latest iPhone models that have hit the market. The iFixit guys have prepared a section on their website where all the scores obtained by the different models that the company has launched on the market are shown.
