Yesterday, the iMAME emulator arrived at the App Store (we assume that it was due to an oversight). Although it comes with 9 ROMS as standard, a method has already come out to be able to load MAME and NeoGeo games manually.
The emulator is free and universal, so on the iPad it is a real delight. As if that were not enough, iMAME is compatible with iCade so you can enjoy the arcade experience even more.
After the jump we will explain how to install other ROMS in the emulator, meanwhile, download the emulator before Apple removes it from the App Store.

Requirements:
Steps to follow:
1 -Install the version of iExplorer that corresponds to the operating system of your computer.
2- Launch iExplorer and connect your iPad.
3 -Go to the path: iMAME / Documents
4- That's where you have to insert all the ROMS in ZIP format.
5- Once the transfer has finished, you will have to close iMAME on your iPad if it is in the background and open it again so that the ROMS you just installed will appear.
Directions after following the tutorial:
- I don't know the compatibility list of this emulator so not all ROMS can work.
- Some games may require the NeoGeo BIOS which includes the Neo-Geo.rom, Ng-Sfix.rom and Ng-Sm1.rom files. You can download these files in this link. Once downloaded, insert those files into the ZIP of the ROM.
One question, I already have the iMame working perfectly with hundreds of games on my jailbroken ipad 2, I was thinking if I install iexplorer and look in the path, will the rooms come already? the original iMame ???, and delete the iMame with jailbreak, would it work ??
I think that with the iExplorer you cannot access the path where the IMAME4All roms are since it needs root user permissions. You also lose support with the wiimote. I would not make the change, this is more aimed at those who now do not have jailbreak available. Greetings!

Yes, it can, I don't have the jailbreak and it's perfect for me. I keep downloading games and putting them in and surprisingly they work even more roms than on other occasions the mame on pc has accepted me ... A luxury.

I do the steps indicated to load ROMS on my iPad 2 and these ROMS do not come out. I have rebooted the iPad (Home + Power) and nothing. I use iExplorer from an iMac with lion.

I have the imame but from cydia with all its roms .. there are packs of mame4all roms on the internet and this emulator is based on it .. it is the same as that of the PSP and some other versions, the roms are the same

When I try to enter the iMAME folder it tells me to reach my limit of connecting 5 directories for that session, someone who knows how to solve this problem? I don't have jailbreak on my ipad1
