Now a study predicts a 180% growth in the installation of these eSIMs between now and 2025. The study has done it Juniper Research, a study that as we say speaks of a 180% growth in the number of eSIMs installed in connected devices by 2025. Growth driven mostly by the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch (Google is also to blame for this growth). Using the eSIM is a challenge for manufacturers, right now we see that we have to wait for the next iOS 14.5 to be able to have 5G dual band using a physical SIM and an eSIM, but as we tell you, everything is on the way to universalization.
Since a few months since I changed companies, I only use eSIM, both on my iPhone and on my Apple Watch, and the truth is that I have not had any problem about it. We have already discussed in several episodes of our podcast the problems that there have been with companies like Vodafone, but the truth is that it is becoming easier to switch to eSIM. Advantage? If you travel and need to get a local SIM you will always have free physical space, the one in your country of origin you can deactivate it and that's it. I do believe that it will become a standard, and especially for the next devices that will foreseeably be shedding the "non-watertight" parts.
