In iOS 7.0 Siri can read your messages

It's no secret that Siri has come a long way over the past two years. When it first came to light accompanying the iPhone 4S, Siri functionality was little more than a joke. Not only was she limited in the amount of things she could do, but the things she could do she often didn't do correctly or cut herself. Well, it was very frustrating to use Siri unless we wanted to tell you when to set an alarm or when to schedule an event. Now things have changed and one of the novelties implemented in iOS 7.0 is that now Siri is able to read our emails.

For many of us this may seem like a minor function but for those who have to keep their hands on the wheel and want to know about the latest emails, messages or imessages welcomed, the new feature is a joy. For Siri to read us the latest emails received, just activate Siri and say "Read me the new emails“From this moment the assistant will proceed to read us one by one the new emails that we have received along with the date and time of sending. After this, it will begin to read the body of the email itself and finally it will ask us if we want to make a reply.

What is more, Siri's activity with our email is not limited to reading us new emails but Siri also gives us the option to read us emails from a specific person. In this sense, we can ask you, for example, "read me the latest emails from Pablo" and proceed to read the emails we have received from this person.

Other advancements implemented by Siri in iOS 7.0 are that now it also integrates Twitter and Wikipedia among its search results. In turn, you may have noticed that Siri now searches Bing by default and not Google. Things have to be wrong between Apple and Google for the company to choose to use the search engine of its oldest rival in its personal assistant compared to Google's.
