Just yesterday the guys from Cupertino released all the official versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS for users. Nobody thought that the most important update would be iOS 10.3.3 and it seems that it solves a serious security hole in the system.
It has not been clear if this security flaw was fixed in any of the six beta versions released by Apple of this version, but if the bug that they have solved with the release of this version is known and we can say that it is one of the important ones.
The new version of iOS fixes a security flaw that directly affected Broadcom BCM43xx WiFi chips, allowing any hacker to access our device simply if we were on the same WiFi network connected. At first it may seem complicated for this situation to happen, but it is not so complicated since we usually take advantage of public or free WiFi networks to connect to the network and it is precisely in these where hackers could easily operate. This type of Broadcom chips are the ones used in the iPhone 5 up to the current iPhone 7, 7 Plus and in the iPad 4 up to the latest 9,7 iPad Pro, so if you use any of them, do not delay in updating.
It is for things like these that whenever an update of the operating system arrives, whatever it is, it is important to update. But in some cases it is more important since large security flaws are solved, such as this exploit in Apple devices. Having said that, it must be said that security problems of this type are serious and we are sure that Apple was aware of it, so it is possible that the final version of iOS 10.3.3 was advanced to solve the hole.
