iOS 10 will allow us to hide applications

It seems that the beginning of the end of the native applications is approaching, those applications of the vast majority of users put in a folder that we usually call with an unloving nickname. A few months ago Cook stated that due to the internal links of iOS it is impossible to remove certain applications without iOS starting to show malfunctions. As is usual every time Apple launches a new version of the different operating systems that it has been running, developers begin to look for anything out of the ordinary and that may reveal some information about Apple's ideas for the future.

As a developer has learned, iTunes metadata suggests that the next version of iOS would allow us to make the applications that bother us disappear, but not completely, but it would allow us to hide them so that they stop taking up space on our home screen. The internal API includes "isFirstPartyHideableApp" and "isFirstParty" which if translated into Spanish indicates that the main application can be hidden. If finally Apple carries out that idea, it would allow us to manage the distribution of our applications on our iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch according to our needs.

Most likely, Let's get rid of doubts at the next developer conference that Apple will celebrate in the month of June and where we can see the news that Apple will present from iOS 10 and OS X. Of course, the iTunes metadata does not reveal when Apple plans to implement these new functions on iOS but everything seems to indicate that it will be more sooner rather than later and most likely not in future iOS 9 updates, but until iOS 10 we will most likely not see it.

Currently the only way to hide applications on our iOS-based devices is through Apple Configurator, as we already showed you a few weeks ago, but it is a process that is not available to all users due to the certain complexity involved in the process.
