iOS 11 allows you to scan QR codes using the iPhone camera

The novelties in iOS 11 are appearing little by little while the developers fiddle with the new beta and the reading of the QR codes directly from the iPhone is one of those functionalities that have not been discussed in the presentation and that appears in the new operating system. The Camera application of our iPhone is now able to identify these codes simply by open and focus the sensor directly to the code. This is one of those many functions that were not announced in yesterday's keyntoe and that we are discovering as the hours go by.

The iPhone and in this case the Apple Store has a good list of third-party applications that are capable of performing this type of reading with QR codes, but having it natively on the device saves us space and time, since we simply have to open the camera and scan the code. Once the code has been scanned, a notification arrives on the iPhone with the information it contains, be it a web address, a contact or even the key for a WiFi network. We leave a couple of captures made by our colleague Miguel, to see this feature in operation with the notifications that arrive when using the code reader with the camera:

Point at the QR with the camera, receive the notification and open if we wish. This is the simplest method that could be available for a long time on iOS devices and that developers are already starting to use. So you no longer need any external app to scan QR codes, You can do it directly from the iOS 11 Camera application.
