iOS 8.1 now available for download

iOS-8-1

After several weeks in the beta phase, Apple finally launches iOS 8.1, as announced in the last Keynote presentation of the new iPads. This new version of Apple's operating system comes with numerous performance and stability improvements, bug fixes, and activation of important functions which had yet to appear in iOS 8 despite being announced with the launch of the new system, largely due to the need for the release of Os X Yosemite to do so.

Among the most notable features that appear with this new update are SMS Relay, a function that is included within Continuity, and that consists of the possibility of sending and receiving conventional SMS from your Mac when you have an iPhone nearby and connected to the same WiFi network as your computer, in addition to using the same iCloud identity, of course; also appears Instant Hotspot, a new option that improves the Internet Sharing feature that has existed for a long time, and that allows you to use the data network of your iPhone in a simple way, without having to access Settings and activate the option, you just have to choose it between the available WiFi networks of the other device. Again it will be necessary to have the same iCloud account on your devices.

Apple Pay It can also be used with this new update, but at the moment it is only compatible with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, it will also appear ICloud Photos, a new option that we will find on the iCloud website and in which we can see all our photos stored on our device, as long as we have the option activated.

New options that bring these new features to iOS 8 and that we hope will be accompanied by the expected improvements in battery performance, the solution to the WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity issues, and other stability improvements. To update, as always, you can choose to do it from your own device through OTA updates from the System Settings, or by connecting to iTunes and clicking the Update button. I am not updating via OTA; by iTunes, I get an error ("Could not contact the server ...".
