Having trouble with Activator on iOS 8.4? Here is a temporary solution

Activator

Activator is one of the most used tweaks, there is no doubt, but it is causing problems with iOS 8.4, causing reboots and making our iPhone enter Safe Mode. The problem is that there are many tweaks that make use of Activator and its public version is not adapted to iOS 8.4. Any tweak that needs it, can cause the aforementioned restart, something that is undoubtedly very annoying.

The most normal thing is to think that you have to wait for an update, but it is not entirely necessary. If you really need it, it is worth it, at least for the moment, to use the beta version that is available in the developer repository, Ryan Petrich. Activator 1.9.4 ~ beta1 is quite stable, but don't forget that it is still a beta and issues will likely still appear.

To be able to use it, you will only have to add Ryan Petrich's repository to Cydia and install Activator 1.9.4 ~ beta1 following these steps.

How to install Activator 1.9.4 ~ beta1

  1. The first thing is to uninstall any version of Activator that you have (if you have any).
  2. We open Cydia and tap on Fonts.
  3. We played on Edit and then Add .
  4. We will see a pop-up window in which we have to add http://rpetri.ch/repo (note that you only have to put http: // once).
  5. We played on Add font.
  6. We wait for you to add all the packages.
  7. We search for "Activator" and we install it.

When the official version comes out in the BigBoss repository, I recommend uninstalling the Petrich repository and installing Activator in its final version. When Ryan Petrich wants to add new features to Activator, he will add them and upload the new version to his repository. If we install it, we could have a version that has not been tested enough and have the same problem that we have avoided using the current beta. Anyway, you can leave the Petrich repository and be the first to know what is coming to Activator next.
