iOS 9 allows you to schedule OTA updates at night

iOS 9 OTA

With iOS 9 we are seeing a barrage of innovations internally to the system, among them the best known are improvements in performance and battery efficiency, even adding low-power mode and the possibility of use our data to help with our Wi-Fi connection and have a stable and solid connection at all times.

But those are not all the changes that have been made, as it was recently discovered, iOS 9 will allow you to uninstall apps to make room for an update and reinstall them later automatically, this accompanies the new AppStore system to reduce the space occupied by apps by sending personalized versions for each device.

Well, with all this, more and more news related to comfort and user experience are being discovered, one of them was update timeUntil now we always refused to update or we did it reluctantly since this implied a waiting time until the device was usable again, however iOS 9 comes to solve this problem as well.

iOS 9 OTA

With iOS 9, when an update is downloaded via OTA, it will offer us the possibility of programming it for the night or to notify us later, the first of these options is the one that attracts the most attention, the device will update automatically between 03:00 AM and 06:00 AM As long as it is connected to the electrical current and we have indicated so, of course this will allow us to update our device more comfortably without having to wait for the changes to be applied and lose valuable time, when we get up the next day, we will have of an iPhone with iOS completely updated without us having to have made an appearance in said process.

This and all the news already mentioned are always welcomed by the user community, and come to solve one of Apple's main fears, fragmentation, the main asset they have to fight against Android and Google, and meanwhile we see how the use of our iOS device is increasingly comfortable and intelligent.

And you, Do you think this new function is useful?,you are going to use it when it is available Or have you ever been bothered by waiting for the device to update?

So that!? Nor that there were mini-updates every week / month correcting performance bugs or security holes.

I gave it the first use, in beta 4 of iOS 9

I got up at 3:00 a.m. to see if he really did it… and he actually did!

By the way Juan, when does beta 6 come out?

Hi Rafael, thanks for commenting 😀 let me explain, iOS betas usually follow a pattern of 1 every 15 days, despite that this year due to Apple Music there have been some irregularities in this aspect, however the pattern seems to remain intact and comes out Every 2nd Tuesday, the last beta came out on a Tuesday (I can't remember which one) so we can wait for beta 6 for tomorrow or Tuesday next week, there is less left for the Golden Master! :3

There are many who after updating to ios 9 public beta 3 have run out of 3g connection

Apparently all of us who have lines under different omnv, that is, low-cost operators that use the network of another operator, for example in my case lebara and in another post on this same website, another user mentions euskaltel.

In my family another with pephephone!

I have written several emails to this forum which is where I regularly read everything related to ios asking if they could investigate something about it. It seems that in other English forums they have found something but I cannot understand it.

If any of the editors read me, it would not be bad for good or bad to answer their readers

    Thanks, David

Hello David, I do not remember having read any of your emails, despite that we receive a lot and it is normal that sometimes we miss some 😛 my apologies.

As for your problem, I have not seen anyone that has happened to him, I personally have changed from Yoigo to Pepephone recently (I regret very much, next month I will be in Yoigo again because Pepephone is terrible) and I have not had problems with the 3G connection beyond having to configure the Instant Hotspot manually to use Handoff, anyway, if your problem and that of your relatives persists, you can try this website where it creates a profile with the APN of your operator : http://www.unlockit.co.nz/mobilesettings/

You just have to search the list for "ES-Your operator" and install the resulting profile.

I hope it helps you and allows you to recover your 3G connection, remember to restart the device after installing the profile to force the iPhone to request the access data from the operator ^^

I have IOS 9, and several 5S phones with IOS9, the problem I have is that when I receive a call or it is lost, it is registered in the call history but of all the equipment, I do not know if it is a configuration problem or a bug of IOS9, it should be noted that they are all under the same account or apple ID.

This is probably due to the new Handoff functionality that allows you to take calls from an iPhone from the iPad or Mac, it is not indicated how to "fix it" if it is a problem, perhaps Apple will add adjustments on the subject in future versions of iOS 9 For now perhaps, if you are not looking for this functionality perhaps it could work to disable Handoff from your iPhone or all your devices 😀

Juan a question I update my iPad mini 2 and my iPhone 6 to iOS 9 the latest version, ok everything is great although only two applications do not work for me and the iPhone is stuck I have to restart it, when a new beta comes out I have to do The whole process that I did for the first time or the update will come out via ota, and analyzing the iPhone, the battery lasts longer, I reached one and a half am with 30% on the iPad, the animations were more fluid, I did a benchmark to the two teams with iOS 8 and iOS 9 and they are even bone that they do not lose much when updating it, we will have to wait until it is finished to see if it improves the performance of the equipment more and one last thing the application to save battery use it but it gives me the impression that is not working, since the animations and others continue to work the same, I do not know if I am wrong

    Hola!
I have an iPhone 6 in which I scheduled an update of ios 9.0.2 at night between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM (connected via Wifi), and what is my surprise that when I get up the mobile does not turn on ( it stayed charging all night) there is no way to get it to turn on.
I have connected it to the power for more than 1 hour, I have pressed the lock button and the start button at the same time, I have connected it to iTunes ... and nothing

    Could you help me?

    Thank you

Plate problem, being under warranty Apple has changed it for me at no cost.
Despite having been bought in Mexico, the guarantee has served me here in Madrid, I say it because I have read in many places that Apple does not respect the guarantee if the product is from America.

      All the best
