iOS has a hidden keyboard for one-handed use

With the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Apple broke one of its principles, until then used to criticize the competition that did not stop launching increasingly larger terminals: a good smartphone was one that could be used with one hand. From that moment on, being able to write a message with one hand was reserved only for those who had big hands, especially in the case of the 5,5-inch iPhone. However, Apple has an ace up its sleeve: a smaller keyboard that can be achieved only with a gesture, but that is hidden waiting for the Ok in Cupertino. We show it to you in operation.

It has been found by Stroughton Smith, a well-known hacker who loves to dive into the depths of the system, and who also gives us the data that this keyboard already existed in iOS 8, that is, that Apple has already been testing it since the launch of the iPhone 6 Plus. As you can see in the video that is included in his tweet, to remove this keyboard you only have to perform a gesture of sliding from one edge of the screen to the opposite side. The reasons why it has not yet been enabled are unknown, we do not even know if this function will ever see the light of day, which more than one of us would appreciate.

Similarly, the possibility of using two on-screen applications on iPads was found a long time ago, and it took Apple a few months to make that function public. The good thing is that if there is ever a Jailbreak for iOS 10, we can enjoy this function that can be enabled simply with a couple of lines of code. Meanwhile, we can only wait for Apple to press the button and say Ok to this new feature.
