iOS gains users in many countries even in Spain

But it loses a few in China, in favor of Android users. Android continues to be the winner in the studies carried out by Kantar Worldpanel, on the number of users of both operating systems in the first quarter of 2017 compared to the same period in 2016. In this study it is interesting to see that in the United Kingdom or even in Spain , iOS users have grown compared to Android users during this period, although it is true that the growth differences in both countries are quite marked since in Spain it is 1,7% more users and in the United Kingdom 5,6%. In both countries Apple achieves growth with iOS, but in China iOS users have fallen by 8,6% and this is not so good for Apple.

It is true that this increase in users in Spain is really low if we compare it with the United Kingdom or the United States, but it is important. During the first quarter of 2016, Apple had a 6,4% user share in Spain with iOS and during this same period of 2017, Apple has managed to raise this figure to 8,1%. Android users have dropped in our country from 92,9% to 91,4%, a figure that, beyond this, is significant regarding the percentage of users of both operating systems. Android continues to clearly dominate in Spain. Far from these two operating systems, it can be said that Windows Phone has a 0,4% share, so it is not by far an operating system used in our country.

In the United Kingdom, the figure is much better for Apple, being 34,8% during the first quarter of 2016, reaching 40,4% in the first quarter of 2017. This means that growth is much higher and is at the same rate. par with the growth of the United States. In this case Android users in the UK are 57,2% in the first quarter slightly more than half of the total, but far from what we have in Spain. On the other hand, the worst part or the worst figures of this study is taken by Apple in China and Japan. In the case of China, the decrease in iOS is 8,6% compared to the same period in 2016 and in the case of Japan we are talking about a decrease of 1,7%.
