Apple yesterday launched the tenth beta of iPadOS 16. Remember that a few weeks ago some of its new operating systems were officially launched, including iOS 16 and watchOS 9. However, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura will arrive throughout the month of October, most likely with new iPad and Mac models under the arm. One of the reasons iPadOS 16 was delayed was Stage Manager, or so it is believed. A function that in the tenth beta includes news: Stage Manager will come to iPad Pro without M1 chip.
iPad Pro without M1 chip will finally have Stage Manager in iPadOS 16
Throughout the nine betas prior to iPadOS 16 and as opposed to what was presented at WWDC 22: we have changes in Stage Manager or Visual Organizer. This function is one of the star features of iPadOS 16 which attempts to bring real multitasking to iPad Pros. However, the technical necessities of this feature include a new fast memory swapping feature that could only offer Apple's M1 chip included in the latest iPad Pro.
However, everything has changed in the tenth beta of iPadOS 16. In this new beta, Stage Manager is compatible with some old devices that did not have an M1 chip inside. These include the 11-inch iPad Pro 1st generation and later and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 3rd generation and later that carried the A12X and A12Z chips instead of the M1 chip. With a limitation of four applications live on the screen at once.

We introduced Stage Manager as a completely new way to multitask with resizable, overlapping windows on both the iPad screen and a separate external display, with the ability to run up to eight live apps on the screen at once. Offering this multi-screen support is only possible with the full power of M1-based iPads. Customers with iPad Pro 3rd and 4th generation have expressed great interest in being able to experience Stage Manager on their iPads. In response, our teams have worked hard to find a way to offer a single screen version for these systems, with support for up to four apps live on the iPad screen at once.
Apple has also announced that Stage Manager support with external displays will also be delayed until iPadOS 16.1 even with devices with the M1 chip. However, this function of externalizing the iPad's own screen to screens will be exclusive to iPad Pro with M1 and the new iPad Pro that will integrate the M2 chip that we will probably see throughout the month of October.
