One more year, the benchmarking specialist service AnTuTu posted the results on the fastest smartphones of 2016 or, in other words, those that, in theory, have offered better performance during the year that ended more than two weeks ago. There are no surprises, especially considering that the Note 7 was discontinued: the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 are in the top two positions from this list.
What may be a bit more surprising is not seeing no device from the korean giant in this Top Ten. We do see the OnePlus 3T in third position, a device with a price that is around 60% of what they ask us for an iPhone 7 or some other competing phones that have recently decided to catch up with Apple's phone, or at least as far as price is concerned.
The iPhone 7 Plus is the best performing phone of 2016
The iPhone 7 Plus achieved a score of 181.316, while the 7-inch iPhone 4.7 achieved a more discreet score of 172.001. The OnePlus 3T, the best performing Android phone, all according to the AnTuTu tests, it obtained a score of 159.911. Outside of the podium we would have the LeEco Le Pro3, the Moto Z, the OnePlus3, the Xiaomi Mi 5s, the Asus Zenfone3, the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus and the ZTE AXON 7.
According to AnTuTu, these results have been obtained from a mean and only devices that have performed the tests with at least 2.000 with their application have been included in the list, so deberían be reliable.
In any case, I have always said and will always maintain that the benchmarks should only be taken as a reference, but that a higher score does not always translate into a better experience of user. The important thing is what we feel in daily use, but it is surprising that Samsung, with the number of devices it has on the market, does not have any in this Top Ten.
