The iPhone 8 sold better than the iPhone X in the last quarter of the year

We are just a week away from the official figures being known by Apple, but while we wait we can have an approximation to what Apple will tell us on February 1 thanks to analyst estimates. A recent study carried out by CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners) carried out during the last quarter of 2017 reveals interesting data on how this year's new models have been sold.

With eight iPhone models available to buy, more than ever before, total iPhone sales are not known, but the study does show how large-screen iPhones continue to sell very well, and how this year's models sell for almost twice as much as older models. These and other data are developed below.

In the graph that we show you you can see the results of the study carried out in the United States with a sample size of 500 people, who bought their iPhone in the last three months of the year. In different colors, the percentages of each model still on sale officially by Apple are shown, buying the last quarter of 2017 with the same period of 2016. 24% of those surveyed decided on the iPhone 8, 17% on the iPhone 8 Plus and 20% bought the iPhone X. Between the two iPhone 8 models, they achieved twice the sales of the iPhone X, although it must be taken into account that the latter was on sale for only two months during that period, something that must have had an important influence on those results.

It highlights how well the iPhone 7, 7 Plus and to a lesser extent the SE have continued to sell. The reduction in its price by Apple as well as the possible discounts that the operators have made would have turned them into Very interesting models for those who want an iPhone regardless of whether it incorporates the latest technology available. With the figures from this study and taking into account that these are estimates with a limited sample size, it seems that Apple's strategy of launching two continuous models such as the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus together with the iPhone X, more innovative and priced higher, it has worked out quite well.

    Good,

A month ago you were giving the news backwards.

    Agree.

    Hehehe

If you read the article you will see that they are estimates made by different companies, so we do not have to agree, we only publish the relevant studies that there are and that are interesting

    Si

I know they are estimates. I mean that a few months ago you put this:

The iPhone 8 is a piece of the phone. I bought it when it went on sale and I have no regrets at all, I don't need an iPhone X.

For people like me who use the camera sporadically and what they are looking for is power and capacity, it is worth going for the 8.

You never know what the market is going to dictate; the best efforts can be made to create a great product and the results can even be implausible, so it is quite a complicated subject, to be honest. That's why sometimes we come across little surprises like this one.
