IPhone 8 will charge faster

Already months before Apple introduced its current flagships, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, rumors were paying more attention to the iPhone of 2017, that device destined to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its launch, which we have already assumed as iPhone 8 , and from which we all expect great news.

One of the traditional demands of iPhone users is that the device can be charged in less time, and it seems that this demand could finally be met because The iPhone 8 would include a 10W USB-C charger in its box which would practically double the current charging speed (current iPhone power adapter is 5W and has a slower USB-A port)

The iPhone 8 will combine the Lightning and USB-C connectors

Earlier this year, popular KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple will launch an iPhone with a 5,8-inch OLED screen that would feature a Lightning to USB-C connector with faster charging capabilities.

Now, half a year later, Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis states in a research note that iPhone 8 will come with a 10W wall charger with built-in USB-C connector, and a Lightning to USB-C cable.

Blayne Curtis notes that both the iPhone's built-in USB-C chips and the 10W power adapter will be supplied by Cypress Semiconductor. Also, the research note suggests that that chip will be the same CYPD2104 chip that is already being used in the new 10,5-inch iPad Pro.

With this novelty, both the new 10,5-inch iPad Pro like the 12,9-inch iPad Pro and the expected iPhone 8, could be charged at a higher speed making use of a Lightning to USB-C cable connected to the new 10W power adapter or 29W USB-C adapter of the 12 ″ MacBook.

In this regard, Apple will most likely include a Lightning to USB-C cable in the box of the next iPhone 8, instead of the traditional Lightning to USB cable. However, also it could be that the company chose to include a USB-C female to USB-A mach adapteror for use with the new wall charger.

Without a doubt, this is good news that, if confirmed, will be very well received by users.

They are the only ones who do not want to change their lightning charging connector for usb type-C, but in the part that connects to the current if they change it. Well we will have to see, how fast is the load xD.
