It is true that it has been the main novelty of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, with many good reviews and some interesting features that allow us to perform actions that are not possible otherwise. But no less true is that, today, it is not something differentiating.
So far, 3D Touch was kind of "stuck" on top of the system, adding options here and there, without any real consistency. With iOS 10 the feeling is that it is fully integrated, as we told you in the special podcast that we recorded as a result of the event, and that - now yes - it will begin to be a feature that really gets noticed on the iPhone.
This would not be fun for those who do not have one of these devices with 3D Touch, since many of the main features announced during the event had him as the main protagonist, if not for Apple has confirmed that, in future betas, the support of this function will also reach those devices of the company that do not have this factory option.
Support for rich notifications is optimized for 3D Touch, being available in the first beta of iOS 10 only for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Future betas will include access to this functionality for iPhone users without 3D Touch support.
How is this possible? Well, although it is not known for sure, I dare to think that it may be something similar to the way Instagram has implemented it when it comes to offering previews of the photos -making a long press on them-, achieving a result that is quite similar to what we see on devices with 3D Touch.
