Is it advisable to update to iOS 8.4.1?

A question that you often ask us is whether it is recommended to update to iOS 8.4.1. The latest stable version of iOS was released almost three weeks ago but, as with all versions, it is not 100% problem free. There are many users who report battery problems, but battery problems appear in practically all versions, some yes and others no.

Whether it is advisable to install iOS 8.4.1 will depend on the current situation of each one. The first thing to say is that the update focused on correct problems related to Apple Music and Beats 1, so other aspects of the system should not be improved or worsened. Still, I explain in more detail what I would do in each situation.

If you have the jailbreak

In addition to fixing bugs in Apple Music and Beats 1, Apple also took the opportunity to fix the small security flaws that TaiG and Pangu used to release their tools to jailbreak untethered iOS 8.3 to iOS 8.4. So all those of you who have jailbroken or plan to do so, stay away from iOS 8.4. If you are on iOS 8.4 or lower

This answer is a bit more complicated.

• Si you are on iOS 8.3 and you do not have jailbreak, so I know iOS 8.4.1 is better and we also have the Music application with a very positive change. I would say that you can update.
• If you have totally decided that you will install iOS 9 from next week, unless you have serious problems, it is not worth it waste your time. If, as I said, you have serious problems with the system, it is best to do a clean restoration, but it is also advisable to do a clean restoration with each change in the first figure of any operating system, so you would do two restorations, with all that it entails, in seven days.

If you asked me for a shorter answer and without going into nuances, I would tell you that iOS 8.4.1 is not worth installing. The main reason is that we are one week away from the presentation of iOS 9, two for its launch, so I would only recommend its installation as a last option.
